Saw it coming 4 years ago, always happens every election since the 94 AWB. Just an observation on the Hi-power ammo, usually the big calibers stay on the shelves since they are used in such low volumes.Seriously, how did y’all not see this coming?

I have never seen a shortage like this. When 257 Roberts or 25-06 that normally goes for $2.50 a round is sold out, it got weird. What I don't understand is even low volume Hi-power ammo like 300WM, 700 Rem Mag have disappeared from the shelves. I can't imagine shooting a box of 20 in a range session much less 5 boxes, your shoulder will be black and blue for a week.

I guarantee you will see those calibers at the gun show, boxes falling apart and never sold unless they are heavily discounted.I have never seen a shortage like this. When 257 Roberts or 25-06 that normally goes for $2.50 a round is sold out, it got weird.
I have run into several LGS with the same policyYesterday, I hit a few gun stores looking for some ammo and reloading components (if there were any to be had). I stopped in one shop and noticed they had factory 7mm-08 on the shelf behind the counter. When I inquired what kind of 7mm-08 they had, store owner replies, "We have Hornady American Whitetail (20 boxes), Prvi Partizan (30 boxes), and another brand (I had never heard of)." I noticed there were 3 other boxes pushed to the back side of the shelf and asked about them. Shop keeper tells me they are 2 boxes of Fusion 140s and a box of Federal Premium ballistic tips. He said those pushed to the back of the shelf are not for sale unless someone buys a rifle. I asked if he would part with 1 box of Fusions, and he said No.
His shop, his rules I get that, but why couldnt he just hold back some Hornady for his customers who purchased a rifle?
I thought it was kind of strange. Granted, a store owner who doesnt have any ammo to sell when someone purchases a gun, very well might hinder the gun sale, but to hold back specific ammo? I dont get it. Any thoughts???
I’ll take your word for it. Don’t see myself at a gun show anytime soon.I guarantee you will see those calibers at the gun show, boxes falling apart and never sold unless they are heavily discounted.

Yep. I guess people are just bad at math and can't figure out whats every 4 years means. Same people buying $600 glocks and $1000 sporticalsSeriously, how did y’all not see this coming?
