With the price of RR AR/M16s why not buy an M11/9 and one of these uppers?
That’s what I did. Plus I have a 22 conversion. It’s a win win

Agreed These are WAY cheaper than an M-16.
Saving for a .22 kit now as I waited to see how it shot before I went for one.
And please let me know, also post pictures and video of it, so far all of the videos of it have been awesome.
I had a .22 conversion kit for my M11/9 SMG some 20 years ago.
I think it was a Fleming kit that I mail-ordered.
It used Ruger 10/22 mags that fed from the left side of the upper receiver.
The thing was a jam-o-matic. I tried several different magazines that were known to be reliable in my 10/22 rifles. Eagle, Ram-Line, Butler Creek, even a factory 10-round rotary mag. All jammed like crazy.
Luckily, the place I bought it from gave me a full refund.
