I just unloaded my Gen 2 Glock 19.................

OMG 9mm is such a tiny little thing. It looks like it would just piss off a rabbit if you shot the rabbit with it. I wonder what someone was thinking when they created this round for self defense/killing in war.

Several things come to mind here:
First, the 9mm bullet wasn't intended to punch holes in battleships, but in people, which tend to be fragile and squishy, and don't respond well to having holes of any size punched in them.
As them being designed for "killing in war", well, they actually aren't. They're largely meant to be carried for convenience by officers and rear-eschelon types, and used only as a last resort when a rifle isn't handy, (which IS designed and intended for killing in war).
Also, the M829 sabot round is also relatively tiny, with a diameter of just over an inch, yet it can devastate a big, steel, tank that's thousands of yards away.
Size may matter, but it ain't the only thing that matters ! :becky:
