I know I am going to regret asking this but.....

Well that's more like a Japanese Land Rover. Like the early Land Cruiser models that came after it. I can't criticize that since they were designed that way. And speaking of Rovers I'm no fan of them at all except for the cool one you don't see very often. The Defender is the best model Rover has or had. I think they were all diesel powered.
The older Series models were tough as hell. The Defenders were based on them. I had two Series 3, a 103 and a 88. These designations are the wheel base. Both were gas engines but diesels were available. The 103 was an ex-British military model with a soft top. The 88 was a civilian model with a hard top. Both were right hand drive.

A 4 door Wrangler is nothing but a compromise vehicle. It was made for married guys with kids. The guy wanted a Wrangler real bad and his ball breaker I mean wife said he couldn't have one unless it had room for strollers and baby seats. Oh and then the wife makes it her mall crawler.
It's as wrong as a 4 door Porsche or new Harleys with big touch screens on the handle bars.
what about an automatic Corvette

2 wheel drive Jeeps, four-door Jeeps, four-door Porsches, automatic sports cars, 6cyl Camaros or Mustangs, rear end lowered trucks, cambered out wheels, touchscreen Harleys---- :rip:your man card
See now this guy gets it. But yes, I'd rather drive a damn Escort or Festiva than a Mustang or Camaro with a V6. It's like you were right there at the goal line and just gave up. And don't get me started on those squated rear end trucks. Maybe i can take a pic of my female dog Bella squatting to piss and post it up next to a pic of one of those trucks. It's pretty much the same look.
Harleys with tech gadgets is such an oxymoron. Don't you buy and ride your Harley to get away from all that ****?

I'm buying a JKU in two hours so I'll chime in. I work on the road, I love motorcycles, and if I came home from 4-5 days on the road and told my wife and four year old I am getting on my bike and staying gone for the day not only would my wife be pissed but my kid would be heartbroken that after days on the road I am choosing to go off alone without her. So in order to honor these two commitments I've made I sold my bike so I can spend more time with my wife and kid.

So next I start looking for how to replace the empty spot in my soul for my motorcycle. My daughter is still too young for dirt bikes or atv's but she is head over heels in love with riding around on motorcycles and atv's with me. In order to purchase a solid, newer lifted golf cart it's $10-15,000 and they couldn't leave the neighborhood. So I started shopping for a side by side. It's perfect. It's fun off road, it fits all three of us. We can all enjoy it equally. There's just the small matter of spending $20-25,000 on a toy that can't be driven on the road and can only be enjoyed one weekend a month when I can afford to take it somewhere out of town.

So that brings us to if I am going to spend $20-25,000 for something that isn't street legal why not buy a 4 door Wrangler? The girls can drive it every day around town while I am gone. When I get home we can take the top off and go exploring. Whether that's kayaking, fire service roads, up to the apple orchards. We have a fun, family friendly vehicle that is able to take us where we want to go all while providing the laughs that we otherwise couldn't enjoy together.

Everyone has their opinions but we cannot wait to get our new Wrangler and start enjoying our family time together.

Yesterday I saw a black 4 door Wrangler outside of the Fred's in Darien. It had pink pin striping down both sides and some kinda pink Hello Kitty in the back window AND the obligatory "Salt Life" sticker ( BARF!)
I had my phone out and about to get pics when I realized there was a chick sitting in it looking at me crazy as hell. For a brief moment I thought about snapping a pic and trying to explain to the chick why I was doing it and that she was proving my point on 4 door Wranglers. Then I realized that would just make it worse.
