I love the AK47 and own a few, would I enjoy an SKS?

I love everything about the AK47 platform, and enjoy it across several calibers and variations. From 12GA to 7.62x54R, but by far my favorite is shooting the 7.62x39 variants. So my question is would i enjoy an SKS, I've never shot or held one before, but I think it looks cool and I've got plenty of ammo for it if I do get one. Any advice on important things to look for, good or bad, if I decide to buy one would also be helpful, as the SKS seems to have a few variations of it's own.

I just got an sks at the last swap meet. It's fun to shoot and a neat part of history. And they won't break the bank. If you buy it and don't like it, you can prolly sell it for what you paid.

very nice rifles. prices are very slowly moving on them

best sks is paratrooper, its lighter and shorter than others. price is about what bubb'd norinco owners are asking for

As it came from Norinco, had both styles, I'd take the easy mag loading option myself, but there's lot of options out there.

Interesting how many other conversions options have been offered to avoid the original mag config.

It's a no brainer, of course you would enjoy an SKS. I prefer the factory 10 round mags. There's just something satisfying about feeding it 10 round stripper clips from the top.

Get an SKS. You'll like it.

Use stripper clips to load it. Easy and fast.

Get the new Ruger American bolt gun in 7.62x39 instead.
