2 actually, on a tundra.

I visited a new to me shop who wouldn't install them because they weren't specific to my truck. I thought that was the point of universal but I guess I should have clarified that before I wasted the trip.

Dallas has more auto repair shops than most little towns, you should be able to find a shop to do it reasonably

Did you buy the cats already? If so thats most likely the reason.
Also, most of us quit using universals because if the load rating doesnt exactly match the OE cats, the check engine light will be back on with a Cat Efficiency code....ask me how I know. Good luck OP.

Believe it or not, Pep Boys once installed universal cats on a truck I used to have about 5 years ago. But they warned me my check engine light might come back on eventually, and it did.

You can buy cats specific to your truck on amazon prime

Got it done at priest automotive. Code hasn't come back on and the catalyst and 02 readiness is good to go. Just waiting for the evap readiness and it's off to emissions.

I got my old cat, so if the code comes back I'm going to do the "hail Mary pass" that I've read about on Toyota forums (acid bath to clean precious metal inside cat). If that failed it would be on ward to a direct fit Toyota set up.

For whoever asked, the truck has almost 200k miles.
