I screwed up, can I fix it?

I want to put together a 14.5” AR with a pinned or welded flashier.

I bought a barrel, but when I got it home I observed it was a pistol gas system. I had the impression it was carbine Length gas system. My bad all the way.

I’m hearing that this system will beat the charging system bad in just a little while. Is there anyway to salvage this project, reliably?

Use a pigtail. Possibly an adjustable gasblock as well.

I second an adjustable gas block. I use JP Enterprise low profile adjustables on my 308's due to 308s tend to overgas, they work wonderfully and even slim free floats will fit over them.

I'd use that barrel for a pistol build, or sell it, and get yourself a 14.5" middy.
