Okay well teens and preteens ain't known for their deductive reasoning or their ability to think/act logically. That's why teens and preteens are emotionally driven a lot like... wait for it now... Women. So if logic and reasoning are obviously out the window then you have to work with what you have. I don't WANT my kids to fear me either. But I never had to do that because mine weren't mouthy brats. But if they HAD BEEN I would have had no problem with that course of action.I agree with you about that one,I'd never want them to fear me.. I should be a safe place and a person for them to trust. They just piss me off wolfmanrogers.. it's tough with all the teens man.. they're 13 & try to talk/act like they're 23 sometimes..
Now if this really is "The stupidest **** ever" then that response tells me that some of y'all never had your asses whipped by a parent. Because THAT IS the fear part I was talking about. That's the part that kept a LOT of us from doing stupid juvenile delinquent type **** when we were kids. Time Out was NOT a thing when I grew up. Sure being grounded might have been for SOME kids but not me. And while it may be frowned upon these days I see lots and lots of **** kids that really need it. Say whatever you will but fear and pain or the potential for it IS a motivator for young skulls full of mush.
