I swear I hate teens.....

My daughter could be pretty mouthy starting around age 12. I kept my cool with her, listened to what she was saying because most likely there was an underlying reason that needed to be reasoned out. Eventually she learned being a brat was not the way to be heard. There were tears, stomping teenage feet, and punishment, cruel and unusual according to her at the time. Fast forward as an adult she said that I was a good dad because I listened and talked to her, wasn't judgmental, and always protected her.

Be patient and reasonable this is just a phase they are going through dragging you through hell along the way. They should outgrow this before you die.
Sounds 100% just like what mine is doing!!! X2 so hopefully they'll both stop one day 😂

I've told more than one parent of teens and preteens that IF they don't respect you and Mom is enabling that disrespect then they need to FEAR you at least until such time that they learn respect. It's kinda like feeding a dog or cat that turns around and bites you. That pisses me off more than most things. I will be Goddamned if I will look out for anything or anyone and their needs /wants that then turns on me. So if fear is what's required in that situation then so be it.
Amen!!

Yea, if it doesn't kill him first.......I agree with what you said

That's right. All in how you're raised. I mean you'll have the occasional instances.
In that one situation that kid goes to high school with lots of lucky sperms that drive newer nicer **** than what you see in the teachers parking lot. So how do you get a 17 year old boy to appreciate ANYTHING when you just hand him a BMW 3 Series ragtop? Because that's what I see at Houston Co High as well as Perry High one street over from me. How do these parents not understand that they're creating entitled little assholes who will want and demand something even better when they inevitably wreck the first car? Very few of them have actually worked for anything. And I know a school kid can't work a real job. But if they don't work for something then they'll EXPECT EVERYTHING from the parents from now on.
Oh and then the parents will spend tons of money to send them to colleges where they will be brainwashed by the woke bullies. On top of that college is a very expensive place to be unmotivated with no direction or plan. Probably the most expensive place/way there is to just **** off and waste time.

I've got 4 little girls, 5 yr old, 8 yr old and a set of 13 year old twins... Both twins think they can now speak to ME like I don't matter or have an attitude with everyone in the house.. I'm bout done with being Mr.Nice Guy and about to show them what a Sergeant is really about. I've tried to be sweet to them as they are little girls but I'll be damned if I'm going to it here and deal with this mess.. I'm taking all electronics (t.v & phones) and legitimately leave a bed and clothes in their room.. enough ranting...I'm done.. teens are such a$$holes!!!!! My God!!
sounds like you should have raised them in church, taught them respect at a younger age.
it's never to late to begin.

I had classmates that worked at grocery stores. Worked a lot of hours and drove nice and even new cars. Granted they should've spent more time on their studies. You're right, they need to work for what they have. I always did. My sister did not. And she still doesn't have anything to this day. I was 13, told my parents they were making a mistake with her. They got mad, but I was right......

My brother in law's family are devout Christians. Their youngest daughter is a heathen......I'm hoping she'll settle down with age
