I swear I hate teens.....

Spend a whole day shadowing your teen follow them everywhere then have them shadow you. Freedom equals responsibility -Humans have 3 distinct brains a cellular brain an animal brain and a people brain teens have not crossed over completely to the people brain however they are excellent at follow the leader - in this day and age they have very little personal life experience with real adults who care about them (as well as how that looks when you love them enough to intercede) and or people who do what they say - they crave views and reactions - they see a great deal of what gets reactions rather than what matters - girls in particular are critical followers they watch and follow or emulate behavior and look for your reactions - (many really intelligent and lively ones have a wealth of knowledge but not experience - what they read or see in media and what they ingest from afar or outside the story - its not their own 2 way mind body and spirit its all mental) they do not process during the listening phase and they don't really understand relate or care experientially what you say they just pay attention to what you do within the framework they have - think about how you interpret or think about interactions with your parents now
I loved my two boys so much. They were the best until the youngest hit about 18. That's when it all turned around. Don't get me wrong I still love em to death but they hard to handle these days.

Indeed every great masterpiece drawing painting film etc...... has an awkward phase where the creator steps back and questions whether they should go on or start over ............... most peoples awkward stage is in their teens. When my daughter was a teen I inserted myself into classes - camping trips - carpools - field trips - parties etc.... and had the thrill of victory as well as the agony of defeat hearing conversations when I was a known presence as well as some when I was a fly on the wall - the hardest part sometimes was letting something I knew would hurt her pan out that way it was the same for my son but usually not as heart wrenching
Oh I'm most definitely a "hot head" I do not allow a smart mouth in my home or disrespect of any kind especially to an elder or parental figure. I will NEVER ALLOW THAT IN MY HOME. It's said and done with now.. leave it be,please & thanks
I thought the same thing when I read it first. When I read it the second time, I think it was aimed at someone else. You're good. I'm glad you figured out a way to handle it. Everyone is different, especially girls vs boys
