and found this lone 455 Colt bullet. I acquired this sometime during my childhood. Does anybody know this caliber? 45 ACP shown for comparison.

Found a few revolvers on Gunbroker chambered in this round. Also found a company that sells the round. $5 each with a 3 round max per order hahahahahaha
 
Typical of the gamesmanship in the firearms business.

As you can see from the referenced Wikipedia Article, Colt produced .455 Colt New Service revolvers for the Canadians. The .455 Colt round was "home grown" and duplicated the Webley round.

If you are foolishly inclined to shoot an interesting collectors item, any .45 Long Colt will shoot it.

A similar situation exists with the .38 S&W and .38 Colt New Police, same round, but both companies have bragging rights.

Same reason S&W Model 29 is a ".44 magnum" and the rest of the world uses a ".44 Remington magnum".
