A relative of mine recently inherited a pocket watch

Has a cover on on both sides
Might also have a double cover on one side to expose the jewels inside the back workings

Any way to identity it ?
Brand etc ?

Supposedly from pre WW-II era Germany

The only true way to tell is in the works themselves. It was not uncommon for a jeweler to sell the outer case separate from the inner workings. You should check out the jeweling and the inner works for stamp or roll marks and go from there.

If you are really feeling froggy, search for holocaust survivors named Welisek....might be chasing a rabbit down a hole but it might not.

I would start with the inner workings though, that is going to get you close to a date and watchmaker.

You might take it to Bowers Watch Repair on Cheshire Bridge. The old man was there when I took my great grandfather's watch in. He's a walking encyclopedia, and very generous with his time and knowledge.
