If it pleases the crown, may we feed the homeless?

Ummmm ill bite

**** those folks. Im all about helping but Not In My Backyard??? (The permit reason is silly but there is a good reason why this should not be encouraged)

Seriously, if you live or work near these popup feel good bull****s it aint fun. stick around after the church group has left to go sing amazing grace to see all THE ****ING TRASH AND RUDE ****BAGS THEY ATTRACT TO THE AREA

Im sure not every church group who goes out to lend a hand does so without thinking; but setting up food drop points encourages the homeless (who are often not the folks you want around your home) to congregate and stay nearby

This is the kind of thing that shelters are set up for otherwise you get situations like they use to have in little 5 points and downtown by woodruff park

I used to be outraged by government shut-downs like this until my good friend who runs a shelter enlightened me. He made me see the difference between feeding a few dozen in your home or business versus a hundred on the street. Too often, charitable groups aren’t equipped to feed large groups of people and create new problems to solve. For instance, Healthcare is more scarce to the hungry than food, so if they get sick....

Feeding large groups is not as easy as it seems.

Don't be silly.
Bleach doesn't kill e-coli, only a government issued piece of paper with a fancy seal on it can do that.

What about a fancy octopus?

Largesse is the purview of the government, knave. Ridiculous to think that the "org" which forces from you produce so they can "help the needy" would allow mere subjects to help someone. The only reason churches aren't taxed for doing this is that they contribute to the system by lobbying for more destitute peoples to be imported to the U.S. so they can help. Tax free of course.

If my father was born in 1931. We are talking about a few decades before the war on poverty and all of the associated assistance programs. We are not talking about our current crop of entitlement dependent class of idiots.

These were decent men who trying to take care of themselves in an era when government policy precluded economic growth and jobs were few and far between. These were not drunks, hobo’s and thief’s.

Today with all the social justice training. The rat b@stards that show up for a free meal will complain about anything that they didn’t get, sh^t all over the place and steal what they want and if they get caught. Claim it wasn’t their fault, and blame the providers for not giving enough.

Enough is never enough, and today’s welfare class is the camel with his head in our tent. Ie Cloward an Piven.

The Cloward–Piven strategy is a political strategy outlined in 1966 by American sociologists and political activists Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven that called for overloading the U.S. public welfare systemin order to precipitate a crisis that would lead to a replacement of the welfare system with a national system of "a guaranteed annual income and thus an end to poverty". I'm totally on board and agree. I'm about helping folks and there are definatly certain ways to go about it. aloof of folks get dealt a bad hand but keep pressing, others are weak and succumb to substance abuse whereas others are just flat out crazy

that coward-piven strategy is interesting. sounds a lot like what the lib elite in California want; they want to entice and import millions of unskilled laborers to act as a voter and workers base, effectively eroding any middle class (you cant often live in a place like San Diego or la unless you are on welfare or earn well over the state median income level)

Interesting? It is just a prelude to socialism. Obama lied his but off about Obama-care. Why? because If he said what he really wanted to inflict upon us; full on socialized medicine, it would be rejected outright.

The great social programs and the war on poverty. All based out of the '60's is the same beast with different stripes. 60 years later we have entire generations who have lived their entire lives suckling on the teat of government programs.

The left has turned everything into a political agenda. for example: Global warming/climate change carbon dioxide levels haven't changed, but again it's a watermelon. Green on the outside and red (communist) on the inside. Just as a deck of cards and a set of poker chips are a tool to remove cash from the gullible. The environmental movement is like just the deck of cards, any acceptance is the inch for them to take a mile.

In California the politicians had a little earthquake. It knocked down parts of the freeway system and bits of the San Francisco bay bridge. They put a referendum on the ballot for a 1/2 cent sales tax on everything sold in the state with an expiration date of December 31st the following year.

The date was coming up and faced with loosing the revenue. They held a voice vote to extend the tax in perpetuity.

Ha Ha! You're F***ed! We lied too bad! You loose! You made the mistake of believing us. Any acceptance is the inch...
