I don't understand why she can't keep the meat.

I don't really know what I would do if I saw an elk in the Ga. woods. DNR refuses to allow their reintroduction, even though it's well documented they are native to Ga. There is no closed season.

If I decided to shoot it, DNR would play hell taking it away.

I understand that there is a good chance that in the next few years, some TN. elk may find their way to GA, so this is not as hypothetical as it seems.
 
I would think it would be like shooting a wild pig here. Invasive species = fair game.
At least that would be my argument as I was cutting that thing up into steaks. :)
