It's not a pistol, it's not a rifle because it's not intended to be fired from the shoulder and has no shoulder stock. IMO what you would theoretically be doing would be converting or building a "firearm" and I haven't ever seen where it's illegal to convert something into the proper classification of "firearm" some people refer to as "other" like PGO shotguns.

So barrel length and overall length are not a mitigating Factor with a 10/22? Let's just say this is a Tapco stock unaltered without the tube

If OAL is 27" I'm 99% sure you're good to go. With a 16" barrel which your example appears to be

I'd do it. I called my buddy from the gun store. Real knowledgeable NFA guy and he's with me on that. I can knock that 1% of curiosity out for you tomorrow if you'd like and get a hard yes from someone I'd trust a felony for?
