If you could have 2 revolvers what would they be?

I’ve owned a heap of revolvers through the years including a bunch of Colt Snakes a Detective Special & a New Frontier .22lr, S&W’s and Rugers. I’ve since sold off almost all but the NAA .22 mag and an old model Vaquero .45 Colt my Dad gave me for birthday gifts. If I had to choose only two to add to those two my first choice would be an earlier pre-lock blue Smith model 19-2 or 3 with a 4” barrel for my BBQ gun. Choice #2 would be the same thing except with a 2 1/2” barrel in nickle like the one my Dad carried when he was a Detective in the 70’s and 80’s. That’s if I could only pick two, but I would love to have a Freedom Arms .454 Casull with a 7 1/2” barrel, a blue S&W model 29-3 with a 6” barrel & another late 70’s Colt Python in Royal Blue with a 4” barrel. There’s lots of others but I’m just too tired to keep going.

1 target/safe queen and 1 concealed carry/BUG

I'm going to add a revolver to my collection at some point in time; not in the market at the moment but always like to plan ahead. I'm pretty much set on a S&W 686 probably a 4" maybe a 6" not sure. I dont know much about them. I know Colt Snake guns are the cream of the crop and that the Smith and Wesson 686 is probably the next best thing. So I figured I would ask you guys who are more experienced in the area.

Pictures of the different models would help if you could.

1-- Range gun, camping gun, second home defense gun:
S&W 686, with a 6" barrel. I have a model 66 six-inch myself, but I'd be just as happy with the slightly larger framed 686. get a couple different kinds of grips for it handsome walnut presentation grips finger grooved rubber grips by Hogue or Pachmayr. Maybe Crimson Trace laser grips.
You can make a Smith and Wesson revolver feel like a totally different gun by swapping out the grips / stocks .

2-- When it comes to the cincesled carry or back-up gun I have to ask you this: do you think you will carry it in your pocket? Or will you always wear it around your waistband?
If you're going to pocket carry, life is easy --get a standard 2 inch barrel (which is really 1 and 7/8 of an inch). But if you're going to wear it in a holster on your belt, either inside or outside waistband, I suggest you find one with a 3 inch barrel. A hi-visibility dot or ramp on the front sight would be great, too.

I suggest that the gun have a lightweight alloy frame. Smith & Wesson has had, since the 1950's, the aluminum alloy series of guns called the "air weight" and then a newer titanium-based alloy that they called scandium and the guns with this material are called "air lite."

Suggestion, if you're not going to pocket-carry the piece:

S&W model 360, which is a small frame, alloy frame, five-shot 357 magnum or 38 special revolver.
It used to be available with a 3 inch barrel that had a very big bright high visibility dot on the front sight, although currently Smith & Wesson only shows the stubby barrel version.

(see pic at top of this post)

Range gun favorite is the Model 625. If I were going to use one for self-defense it would be a Model 66. That's of the ones I own. I'm sure there are a ton of great choices.
