Wow. Surprised at the lack of AR15 fans. Shotguns are fine, but limited. An AR15 will kill anything that needs killing at longer ranges and a lot faster at close range than a shotgun will. Also, take into consideration the fact that each shotgun round weighs about 4 times as much as a 5.56, and how many times would you need to reload a shotgun (one round at a time in most cases) before you would need to change the 30 round mag of an AR, which only take a couple of seconds?
Shotguns are great for hunting and if that were the only consideration, I would probably agree due to their versatility. But in SHTF, bad idea.

LOL! I actually thought about posting something about how many pistols I would end up with due to taking them off the dead.

Of course, I would IF I had one. <<<disclaimer in case a certain person wins next Tuesday
12 gauge............sling anything down range from #8 to Buck to 1 oz Slugs and everything in between............that will take care of most issues/needs......Yeah, I understand the range and accuracy are a challenge at times, but I think it is still the most versatile.
