22 MagWhat would the be?
For me:
#1 would definitely be a 22mag. I believe it’s the most under rated caliber ever. If I was going to be dropped off in the wilderness with 1 choice of firearm for survival/food it would be a CZ512 in 22 mag.
#2 would be a 243 Winchester in a savage 110. Just because it’s great on most any game smaller then an Elk, great for target shooting, and easy on the shoulder.
#3 Would be the 30-06 in a model 70. To me it’s the do all caliber. In normal hunting conditions (500yds and under), and modern powders it can’t be out shot. Even Carlos Hathcock didn’t find anything better to shoot the enemy with while crawling through Vietnam. Not to mention it’s what my father used when I was a kid, and you can’t do any better than what your pop used.
My choice too.22LR
9mm
7.62 x 39
Gotta have a 22LR, 30-06 and a 45-70.
that ought to cover it.

My exact choices. Covers it all.
When I consolidate rifles these three will remain.
I could certainly live with 308 but really fond of my old Remington 700 in 30-06Dang close for me. I could live with the 30-06 as it's a damn fine caliber. But I prefer the.308. The others are perfect.
