I don't know. When it comes to resale telling someone it hasn't been fired would make a difference down the road. However, like a previous post said I don't think you would be able to tell the difference on a semi-auto if it was cleaned thoroughly afterward. I don't know if I could but it's not like a commemorative Winchester lever gun, Colt Python or an old peacemaker. Those guns just hold their value if not shot. A Beretta I'm not so sure could claim the same nostalgic presence as the previous firearms mentioned.
 
I first thought yes I would shoot it, then I saw the pic....EEEE!! That's nice..... I've owned Colt SSA's and other nice firearms new in the box and have shot them. I once owned a pair of SSA's. They were NIB, in cosmoline and you could see that one chamber had been fired at the factory. I planed on shooting them, but someone had to have them worse than I did before I got the chance. Good luck, but whatever you do, no regrets.
