I'm 99% sure the dealership stole my G17.

I know I should. Him walking me back there to open the compartment where it was because he didn't want to get blamed if something is missing is making me second guess everything.

This is the backup to the backup glock. So it's not like I see it every day. It stays locked up.

Took the jeep in today for its first ever service.
They have me come from the waiting room to get the wheel lock out of the center console, because it's locked.

I say thanks because it's under my pistol. They show me to the shop, the lead mechanic is super nice and cool with me. His helper won't look at me.

They give me back my key, I open it, and no glock. I say out loud, "what the ****?"

But I push on because I can't remember if I left it at home. I had thought about doing that because I was going to the dealer.

Come home, check the locked up storage area, it's not there.

There is only one other place it COULD be and that's locked up at my office. I don't recall doing that, but I am human so I am going to check there before I go back to the dealer.

I have to go back anyways because they only did a 4 tire rotation and they have to fix it.

So question time. If it's not at my office, which I doubt it is, I intend to alert the manager and call the police to file a report. Press charges if I can but I doubt it.

Am I out of line?

No. I used to trust the dealership folks. I mean who would gamble away such a good paying job. I found out that you must take everything out of the car before dropping it off. One of my best friends is a service manager at a very large honda dealership. He literally fired 15-20% of the crew at an unnamed Atlanta Toyota dealership for stealing. He finally was runoff and we figured the "ring" was one notch above him. Very scary since he is very near the top.

I certainly hope you get it back and they lock up the dirtbag. Even if you don't get it back then it was a lesson learned. ALWAYS know where your firearm is. IF it was in the console then you're lucky the shady mechanic helper didn't shoot you with your own gun.

Being in the military helped me a bit with this. If your "Sensitive Item" isn't within arms reach then you'd better be damned sure of where it's locked away.

Also, Don't let it get to you. Take it for what it is and move on. Good luck

This almost happened to father at a Nalley in Brunswick Ga. The dumbest thing or the best thing was the "mechanic" took the whole fanny pack ( I still have the fanny pack, lol) and left it on tjw top shelf of his tool box. Dad saw it, got the manager as I watched the guy. Told the manager the gun, bullets in it, and the rest of the contents.

Dad didn't press charges but the guy got fired in the spot. It was a spectacle.

Had a nice .380 in one of those cable vault things under the drivers seat, cabled around the seat mounts.

Did the recall thing at the Dodge dealer in Roswell, got home and the box and cable were gone.

After hours, so I show up in the AM, nobody saw anything, denied the whole thing.
