I might, but am probably just going to scout out the yak fishing areas for future trips. If you don't know the tides and currents you can get into serious trouble in a yak on the ocean and this is a solo trip, so...

Calling it an 'island' is sort of a stretch. Do the inland side, rivers, marsh etc. It would be awesome!
Regardless, bring your yak. "Better to have and not need than...."

Sounds like the OP is set on Amelia Island, but other great choices would be the Black Hills of SD, Mt. Rushmore, Deadwood, Custer National Park...but not when Sturgis is happening.

Another very interesting option would be Cuba, just because not many folks have been there in the past 60 years or so.
