Im pretty sure im about to start an ODT fire lol...

I've owned a FN FiveseveN and agree with all of the above. I traded it for a Rolex and now own a FNX tactical which I'll never trade/sell. Also wasn't the first fort hood shooter using a 5.7, spent 200+ rounds, wounded ~30, and ~13 died? Horrible tragedy, but hose numbers don't weigh in favor of the 5.7's lethality statistically.

Yeah he did not hit with all those rounds. The north Hollywood shooters fired over a 1,000 rounds and nobody died. That's not a very good example of effectiveness

Well obviously, I was referring to the 13/30 figure.

Like the north Hollywood shooters he was a crappy shot thank God . I have never shot a human being or any living thing with a 5.7 but I know someone who used a 5.7 to protect himself from a charging pit bull. One shot of ss198 and the threat was stopped. A one handed shot at that. Police shoot dogs all the time with the .40. Sometimes multiple times to stop the dog.

There are videos online that show what it can do to ballistics gel and raw meat. I was impressed with the results. When any caliber shot placement is always key. With good shot placement the 5.7 is more than capable of stopping just about any threat . It just shines when in use against armored targets which is what it was designed for

Agree to disagree then. Where did your friend shoot the dog? And in all my life of being charged by dogs I have never once thought to shoot one, I hope your friend's life was truly in jeopardy.

You are one of the only few to actually read my questions and answer them! Most other "answers" are irrelevant or inconclusive.

You just have to weigh up the pros and cons. There are pros and cons to every platform. Some can't get into the 5.7 because of the cons. It's not a caliber that is for everyone

just a gimmick. look at 7.62 x 25. if it was modernized.....slightly heavier bullet hits harder. 1700 fps/495 ft. lbs. also penetrates armour. just never caught on.

LIke the round. Don't like the price/availability. More so the price than availability. Even more so than the price of the round, the price of guns that shoot it are unjustified. Sorry FN lovers, unjustified.
