Attention MilSurp guru's!!! Completely out of my comfort zone...
I'm cleaning this old gal up for a friend. It was his deceased father's hunting rifle.
Bore looks clean. Can one assume it was rebarreled for 30-06 with stamping shown? It is 24" measured with cleaning rod from bolt face.
Was sportorized at some point obviously but no importer marks that I can see.
Scope has zero markings on it.
Removed it and front base to reveal stamping.
Any info including approximate value from would be much appreciated!
Will get pic up of entire rifle soon!
Thanks!!

Looks like a 1924 Yugoslavian Mauser. An unmolested specimen would be in the $425-500 range. This one was at some point rechambered and sporterized so it's more likely a $250-300 piece. A bit hard to tell since there are only partial pictures but the stamps all look pretty clean and being close to a century old I'll assume it was reasonably well cared for which is good!

Looks like whatever gunsmith did that conversion back in the deeps of time, they did a good job! Most likely that was originally produced at a place called Vojno Tehnicki Zavod which translates to the Military Technical Institute located in the town of Kragujevac. Originally it would have been chambered in 8mm and patterned after the FN M1924 short rifle. Assuming the machining work was handled cleanly during the rebuild and I assume it was since the rifle looks good, things like this that LOOK good tend to have been rebuilt with care and precision so it should also shoot good!

Overall it seems to be in pretty good shape. I cycled some 30-06 thru it with safety on and it chambers and extracts nicely but mag follower is hanging up a bit. Will look into that.
That controlled feed claw extractor is nice!
