Inherited Something Cool

Thanks! It's a nice piece of firearm history by the looks of it. Doing some research into the story behind it. Nice to be entrusted with it until it gets passed down in the family. It could be in better condition but I dont want to do anything to it besides oil it for protection. I want to clean up the holster with some saddle soap but I'm gonna ask someone knowledgeable before doing anything that might hurt the value. It even has the stripping tool I didnt put in the pics. Only thing missing is the wood stock. As far as I can tell it was one of the first "sbr's". If I can locate the stock I wonder if ATF would have something to say about it?

ATF are fine with it, it's exempt so no SBR concerns. Just to be boring, you can also use a repro artillery stock on an artillery, or repro navy stock on a navy, (rarer and v expensive guns, much faked), without a problem, but an arty must be an arty stock, navy a navy stock. You can't put either on a standard luger, even though they fit.

Never seen a Luger with the "9" in the grips but since it's a 1917...who knows?

You know I'm at least bilingual... right?
Did you not watch Hogans Heroes?
"Nine" in German = no
So it is a "no gun" safe for snowflakes.
Your Welcome :)

AWESOME piece! OP :thumb:
