Iowa Cop Shoots Dog

Break the thread down to the basic core.

We need to shoot more dogs… it’s totally ok because they’re just dogs and we’re people.

VS

Shooting dogs because you’re a ***** is pretty ****ed up behavior.

Some people are just naturally scared of dogs. And they've been teased about their fear since Childhood. Their friends pick on them any time a dog is around. And it's a self fulfilling fear because dogs can smell and sense your fear which makes them nervous and untrusting of you which makes you even more fearful of them.

So when they see a dog get put down like this it makes them feel good. It's comforting for them to see other grown men with the same irrational fear. They feel justified themselves, so they justify any actions of the police.

You're sweating out in the hospital, worried that you're gonna be on of the 10 reported cases of rabies each year in the US.

It all comes back to irrational fear and emotions.

One is too many if it is me.

Man....dude was a vet. AND it was his service dog. That's a bad day all around.

I don't think I've told this story before so now seems like a good time. It's been years ago, but I was working out in my front yard doing some landscaping. Had a big shovel and a few other tools. The wife wanted to swap out the knock roses with a hydrangea and put some different bushes around the mailbox, blah, blah, blah. We had this neighbor who had a big ole pit bull. And the dog was often getting out of the yard and running around the neighborhood harassing and barking at people. Animal control had been called a time or two but no one had ever been bitten or attacked. That kind of thing.

Well, sure enough, I'm out there digging around the mailbox and the stupid dog comes barreling up the street barking and gnashing at me. I turned around and hollered and yelled at him, which only stopped him for awhile...and he continued advancing towards me. I was afraid...but not afraid for my life. He lunged forward once more and I teed off on him with the shovel. He yelped like crazy and limped away. Never even thought to pull my gun. And it was a pit bull, not a shepard/collie mutt therapy dog.

For this cop to shoot this dog? In front of children? My goodness...absolutely no excuse. :tsk:

Those are animals like raccoons and ****, not people.

You'd be the first person in GA to get rabies since 1960. Stupid irrational fear to be "sweating it out" over.

Yes, the news does think differently. They manipulate you to be scared of everything.

Someone has to sound like a bad ass, in his wittle mind, to soothe his fragile ego because he was bit by the neighbors dog in his attempt to defile fido.

Right, but I understand his point. I don't think he's worried about being the one that gets it so much as being one of the 1,200 that get treated so they don't get it.
