I don't think the folks in Florida or South Georgia tried to run them over, like us folks above the gnat line.
I stopped one day when I spotted one toting beside the road, grabbed a 2x2x3' porch rail spindle out of the back of the truck and beat it to death. I hate armadillos.

If you ever decide to run for office video of this act will probably surface.

A round from a S&W 460 doesn't bounce off. In fact, I have been told, it will lift them approx 5" off the ground and produce a very noticeable red vapor for about 3 feet.

I killed a dozen off my property in Heard co.2 years ago and haven't seen one since. .308, 12g, 44mag, 10mm's do not bounce back either.
