Is it just me?

Would you still buy the gun if you were in my shoes?

That is kind of the point of my post. I didn't realize this was a special request when I made it, hence my apprehension with going forward with the deal. I now see the error of my ways :)

i wouldn't say error, just around here it's pretty commonly done this way. you can ask it be a requirement of a purchase, it's just not a question often asked and i dont think many folks would object assuming the conditions i mentioned earlier.

welcome to the ODT and happy trading!!

No worries mate, at least you didn't ask for a BOS! Then you would have really been shunned for life...

If I remember correctly... I had 1 feedback and just a few post when me, my dad and others got hard up for some 35REM ammo (you couldnt buy it in stores and deer season was coming up quick). I found someone selling aprox 100 rounds but it was a 2 hour drive. I contacted the seller and told him I would come to him to get it. I got a response like "Yea, sure your going to drive this far for some ammo".
I had to get him to trust me and hold the ammo for a few days till I was free to drive down there. I dont blame him, I'm sure it sounded weird (he was selling it for a friend and had no idea about the shortage).
I did drive down there, showed up early, got our ammo and continued building my rep on here. A year later, 42+ deals later (I know of 5 that didnt give me feedback) people would trust me to show up a lot easier.

Hang in there. Learn the culture and you'll get there.

First of all, welcome to the mess.
Remember this ain't Craigslist.
I have never had a bad experience with anyone on this forum.
Remember also, you can test drive a used car and drive fine, then on the way home the transmission may fall out. Most used cars don't have a warranty either.

Too bad B Bypass isnt here to chime in on this one.
I thought of him when I read this

To the OP. All gun sales are final even from stores. You take your chances every time you buy a firearm here are anywhere else. I have had more than my share of lemons. I just nutted up though and fixed them or sent them back to the manufacturer and had them fixed.

You can't trust anyone. Expect the worst and hope for the best.

Seller stated the gun worked when he put it in the safe. Why would you believe it might not when you bought it? Sitting in a safe or storage will not harm a gun unless rust or something. I'm with the rest of these guys, if you are not familiar enough with said firearm to inspect at the scene for function ability then you don't need to be trading for that gun. That being said you should disassembled, clean and inspect again when you get it home BEFOREHAND you fire it.

Or just fire a few rounds off in the parking lot to test function.
