Is it possible to convert a 30-06 barrel to 300 blackout?

Why not make a 30 06 ar?

Because it is too long for an AR. Won't even fit in a AR-10. Would take a special made AR to fit such a long case. There may be some out there, but I haven't seen one yet.

There are 30-06 AR receivers, they can even be set up for 300 WinMag.

As far as modding that barrel to 300 AAC, sure can do as long as you can afford the machine work. It will be slightly more than buying a new gun in the caliber of your choice.
