I cant count the deer that Ive taken with a 3006 .

I have no use for a 30-06. More deer missed or can not be found when shot with this caliber during hunting season at our club. ( too much recoil for no good reason )

I had two. A M1 Garand and a M1903A3. I sold them for plane tickets to get to the interview for the job that moved me down here. I sold them to my brother so their still in the family.

Own and use whatever caliber you like and that works best for you.

Be it a 303, 8mm, 7.62x39, 7.62x54r or the all 'Murican 30-06 & 308.

started out hunting with an 06, only recently brought home the 308, in fact
waiting on UPS to bring back a Savage 110 PCS I sent in to get fixed

I'd love to have a Garand one day as well, but as a reloader, I really hate chasing brass! lol. I tend to stick to bolt guns and revolvers.

I'll be 63 in November. I'm embarrassed to say I don't hunt. However, I picked up my first Garand a few months ago. Primarily for nostalgia reasons as I was raised on WWII movies and TV shows. Have yet to shoot it.

I’ve hunted with 30-06 and 45-70 my entire life, no issues with recoil for me. I bought my first .308 hunting rifle last year but haven’t used it yet.
