Is it worth reloading for 223/5.56

Where are you seeing primers at $69.99/1000? Think I paid $110 for my last brick of SR primers.
SRP have been the easiest to find, I buy a lot of them and use them for pistol and rifle. You can find them online and in some local retailers for that price. Set up notifications and when available buy what you can. I have cleaned out several local store when they are available.

You don’t save any money reloading. You shoot better ammo and a lot more of it
Yes: Just buy a good grade of ammo...i like IMI, and shoot away. Try sgammo.com...example below

Availability isn't my issue though. I haven't seen primers anywhere near $69.99 in person or online (even w/o hazmat and shipping) since pre-2020. I'm fine with paying $110/brick because this is a hobby but I'd obviously take that price if I found it lol

Today 556 target rounds are going to cost
.10 bullet
.15 powder $40 a pound mid range cost
.09 primer
.05 case
That is .39 cents / round with about .02 in expendable cost for case tumbling.
It is not going to pay off for a long time but you do get better more consistent rounds when you get practice making them.
I would not make 500 / month on anything less than a dillon 1050 unless you have a lot of time to kill. If properly prepared you can make 500 rounds per hour fairly easily on a 1050 if the brass is clean and in decent shape.
This is buying supplies in quantity at recent prices.
Last time I checked a 1050 setup was roughly $2500. But a dillon 1050 or 1100 will gain in value over the years. It is not a cost that you lose over time.
What he said. When you can buy new brass-cased ammo for $0.37 a round delivered (plus tax), it isn't REMOTELY worth your time. Even with a 1050 with brass trimmer built in, it's not worth your time even when ammo wast 50 or 60 cents a round. You'll be paying yourself less than minimum wage.

$1.25 for target ammo? Yeah, then it starts making sense, but you don't need a 1050 for that volume, or at least I don't. 550 is fine for that, or just a Rockchucker.

Doing any rifle caliber in bulk is a PITA, due to the lubing issue. And the trimming. And the primer pocket swaging. Pistol cartridges on the other hand, are easy and almost fun. But you won't save much money there either, at least with 9mm.

Bereli has Win Lake City for $369.95 plus tax, delivered, though you'll have to do the rebate thing from Winchester. Best prices in three? four? years.

Save your brass and collect components when you find them at good prices. You can reload during the next panic. That's what I do.

I got tired of trimming brass by hand, swaging the brass one at a time. Now I do everything on the press in volume, I don’t have to handle any brass during the whole prepping or loading process. What lubing issues????? I spray liquid lanolin and 99% alcohol mixture on about 150 pieces of brass at a time and dump them in the case feeder and rock on. No issues what’s so ever. I prepped 1500 on Sunday using this method and not one single issue. I load on a Super 1050 so it swages the brass on the press. If I had to prep and load brass one at a time on a single stage or Dillon 550, I wouldn’t think about doing it.
