Is my fan on my Drum smoker too big?

Just picked up a Digi Q with a bigger pit bull fan (25cfm). It was used. I'm thinking this is too much fan for my 55 gal drum smoker.
Anyone got a pit viper fan they would want to work out a trade for the larger fan for larger smokers?

Does the fan have a plug, or is it hard-wired?

It's this fan. Comes wired to plug into the digi q controller.

It's my understanding they are on/off fans and not variable speed fans.
You can adjust a damper on the fan to regulate the amount of air it puts out but not sure if that will be enough for such a large fan.
