Than case hardened?

I know that ARs are “better” rifles but the more I shoot this Henry 357 the more I like it. Taught my 12 year old nephew to shoot this weekend. After a 3 minute lesson he was able to load from the gate, work the action, and shoot accurately.

he even liked the extra punch of 357 rounds over the 38 we started him with.

I prefer the gold brass myself. The case hardened looks like an oil spill to me. HOWEVER, I appreciate that some people really like it. Also, everything else you said about your Henry is spot on. More you shoot 'em, the more you love 'em. And kudos to you for being a perfect uncle and teaching your nephew to shoot. Memories were made that day!

I like a case hardened finish too but blued steel and oiled walnut will do it for me in a pinch too.

Sometimes it appears hard to photograph. Found these samples on the Internet. Really like the full on Colt version. The Wilson is still handsome.
