Is this a king snake?

I actually never knew that but I'm generally scared of snakes and never really got or get close enough to check out their eyes.
I wonder if my area has any poisonous snakes? Most of the ones I see posted on here are king snakes or that one ring snake that was just put up.
You mean like they bite you?

They most certainly can and will if they feel threatened or aggravated enough. Some are quicker on the draw than others. Non venemous but I'm not into being bitten for "fun".
I am down in pike and dispatched a couple of copper heads this year. Have a nice king in my shop, black and yellow. I have been told if you have a king should not be any poisonous ones around. Sure gets rid of the mice and grinnies.
Corn snake
Getting bit shouldn't hurt. My 4' king mistook my finger for a mouse one time when I was feeding her. It was completely my fault. I could feel her "chewing" until she finally figured out my finger wasn't food.
They don't have "teeth" as much as little ridges. You can see the outline of her mouth around my finger.

I'm terrified of snakes, but I am ok with the good ones as long as they are not inside of my house. I would definitely have a heart attack. This guy was on my friends door... They killed it

I'm not too afraid if they are at a distance but my wife is terrified. She goes all Queen of Hearts and it be off with their heads!
Man can you imagine opening that door from the inside and it falling into the house? Man I'd pee myself. LOL

If my wife saw that, I would need a new door, and hope I wasn't standing behind the door when she "eliminated" the snake.
