Is this an illegal SBR?

Or is it exempt because of it's age or something?

I was watching Pawn Stars on TV today and saw this, so I found a clip on youtube to post here.

They say it started out as a rifle, but the stock was removed and the barrel was chopped off to make it a "pistol".

Looks like it was made prior to the law going into effect so should be legal.

My guess would be exempt due to age.

If it's made before 1899 it's considered an antique. Outside of federal regulations.

Yeah, I figured it must have something to do with it's age. The guy said these were made from 1880 to 1890.

I bet that woman was sick when she told the guy that she threw the stock for this gun away and he told her it would've been worth 5 or 6 THOUSAND dollars just by itself!

Rick can only buy guns made prior to 1899 i believe. He doesnt have a FFL but guns made before then dont fall under federal regulations.
