Is this guy "Hunting" or is he just flat nuts?

This is a totally true thing that is happening.

He is a white guy. Honestly when he runs by he just looks like any other redneck. No offense intended.

I don't think he is retarded. Thought it was one of those unique sports like hand catching catfish or something.

It takes a lot to move your needle into the red zone I guess. You need to party with @ARCman47

This is not a sport or any form of hunting. Sounds like a mentally ill guy with some beagles. I would stay clear and call the authorities.

I am wondering if a particular event that has happened more than once around my house is "normal" or "never heard of such a thing before"?

A pack of beagles will come through the woods, including my yard and through the neighborhood streets and run between houses.

They are sniffing out rabbits.

Then a guy comes running through with a machete and chops the rabbits.

He leaves the rabbits chopped in the yard or where ever he encounters them. But I have found them chopped in the lawn at times.

Is this some sort of "traditional" southern sport or is there a real hunting season for this or is this guy just out of his mind?

I am guessing that this is done on farms to protect crops or something or some similar reason but I find it a bit much in a modern neighborhood setting. The houses were built where a farm used to be and the guy is on foot so he is local but is he not smart enough to figure it is not a farm field anymore?

Happened Friday night. This is the first time I have seen it happen at night. Usually 2 guys on a random weekend day although usually only one has the machete, other guy just seems to be following along. I have seen it 3 or 4 times in the past couple of years. Same guys, dogs, method. Leave the chopped rabbit behind.

Was there a great rabbit infestation in the past where this guy learned this or what?

Your thoughts?
I'm thinking you have too much patience or either you are smoking some real good?/bad? weed.......I would not allow anyone to leave my property after trespassing and chopping up a rabbit....someone in this scenario has some major issues that needs confronting.....just my humble opinion of course.....

Maybe he thinks he's Elmer Fudd
Is he shouting?
Kill d Wrabbit
Kill d Wrabbit
Kill d Wrabbit
