Item Description: I got out of long guns last year but still have this improperly staked BCG I replaced.

(I see I placed this is the wrong “parts” classification. I’m still getting used to the new web design will fix soon).

This is a generic, Bear Creek, I believe, bolt carrier group from a 5.56 Wylde. The gas key is slightly loose and had to be the culprit causing FTE’s and Stovepipes. Due to lack of gas pressure I presume. After replacement the problem went away.

So, Smiths! (And those who know) here’s a bench project for $35. If you have the wherewithal and tools to do a re-staking this could be an inexpensive BCG to buy or it could be an expensive paperweight.

Very low mileage less than 500 rounds on it. Firing pin and extractor intact and in fine shape.

I guess of all the hundreds of times I've seen the "properly staked" description on some manufacturers site this is the first time I've ever seen "improperly staked". They obviously made an effort at it, just failed......made me chuckle a bit thinking of a truthful manufacturer actually publishing on their site "improperly staked".

Solid deal, I'd have bought it!!!!!!
