Item Description: I have a Colt 1911 US Army with family history. This gun was made in 1917 so it’s over a 100 years old. I know it has been through the armory twice. I hate to see it go but it’s not helping me just sitting in the safe. I have it listed for what I think it’s worth so make me a offer.

I think it was parkerised at the Armory. I know this gun has been has been in a safe for over 40 years. My FIL uncle brought it home from the war and it was put up.

I will tell you that my wife’s grandfathers uncles used it in one of the wars. He had it in his safe until he wasn’t able and passed it down to my FIL who passed away in 2014. I received it at that time. I do know it has been through the armory twice according to the stamps and was produced in 1917 by the serial number on the gun. It’s in great shape with minimal wear but I don’t have a factory clip. I have shot it a few times. I can send more pictures if interested tomorrow but from what I’ve researched online that’s a fair price. Most that are blued and worn are going for 2500 plus.
