Nice Windham Bushmaster.

This post ban IS what BM would have sold to civilians. Hence the NON restricted roll mark lower. Also, the solid stock on a carbine length upper that has the bayonet nut removed. It is interesting that it is threaded but that could have been done after it left the factory. Still a very nice Bushmaster from when they were considered the #2 AR manufacturer.

Thanks! The history around the availability of weapons like this fascinates me. So which years were they not available on the civilian market? I thought that since this one fell between the years 94/06 they weren’t available to us at all. This one is definitely not marked restricted.

It was a 10 year ban, '94 to '04.

AR's were not banned, just features for all guns. Foldable, collapsible stocks, bayonet lugs, pistol grips, magazine capacity over 10 rnds, the ability to use a detachable magazine.

So, Colt, BM, DPMS and others still made AR, they just had solid stocks, no bayonet lug, or threaded barrels.

Or, they made restricted roll mark AR like below:
