Actually. If you don't take off too much material, it won't rust... Since we're talking facts.
Not looking for a big fight or anything, just shooting the breeze here, but Tenifer treatment or not, a Glock slide is carbon steel, and most definitely CAN rust. The various treatments and finishes Glock has used over the years does NOT make them completely impervious to rust. There are countless, proven cases of Glock slides experiencing rust.
Since we're talking facts........:becky:

with a polished slide you can easily clean/lightly polish it and keep it perfect, vs a tennifer or melonite coated slide if it gets wear, then rusts, you would have to almost strip the whole slide and recoat the whole thing to be able to eliminate the rust. just chiming in

I sand blasted my gen 4 23 and went over it really good with a 0000 steelwool and I haven't experienced any rust or corrosion issues. It's been that way for a year now and it gets carried everyday. I have to say your 17 looks really nice. Some did a really good job on it.

Tennifer is a treatment, not a coating. Polish a Glock slide and unless you remove SERIOUS metal it will still be treated with Tennifer and will not rust.

I carried one IWB all summer a couple of years ago, never did anything to protect it and never saw a single spec of rust.
