Item Description: Great boat for the whole family; fish it solo or let the kids take it beach cruising, lakes, rivers, whatever.

Excellent condition - everything's there, and the mirage drives work perfectly - very smooth and powerful. Includes 2 mirage drives, 2 Hobie seats, 2 Hobie paddles, in-hatch tackle boxes, and an anchor trolley.

Here's how Hobie describes the Outfitter: Fun alone and even more fun with a friend, the Hobie Mirage Outfitter is the ideal all-day boat. The design brief was simple: create an easy-to-use, performance-minded, rotomolded polyethylene kayak that provides years of reliable service. Built-in drink holders and utility trays, dual helms and MirageDrives--plus a mast step for the optional Sail kit--give the Outfitter serious legs, and the boat's wide beam, relative to its tidy length, delivers a stable, stowable and comfortable platform.

For me it's been a great boat, I use it alone to fish, and my wife and daughters use it as a tandem cruiser, but we don't use it enough - maybe 2-3 times per year if we're lucky. Stored on a rack in my basement the rest of the time.

That's a fine looking Yak, looking for a solo for my son.... If I knew I could convince the wife and daughter that this is the most fun you can have in a day I would love to help you out !

Oh man, I feel your pain. If they don't get it you probably can't explain it (kind of like an El Camino) but if you're looking for a way to convince them, the thing my wife and daughters probably liked best about the yak was being able to paddle over to a sand bar or island that no one else can get to and hanging out away from the crowd, and snagging the best sea shells. That's all I got.

Good luck with the solo for your son, there are plenty of boats out there, I'm sure you'll find the one you want.

Take care,

Jim
