Item Description: Here is a pretty great scout setup I built, tried out, and decided I liked something else better.

The rifle is a 1980 manufacture Marlin 336 Texan with the straight grip stock and this one has the more uncommon 18" barrel. Chambered in 30-30. No crossbolt safety.

Has the XS lever scout mount with a Vortex SPARC II red dot on it. Backup sights are the Skinner Guide Sight set with the Bear Buster front sight upgrade.

A pretty solid woods setup.

What a great setup. The Texan and maurader make for some fast handling rifles and with the red dot this would make for a fun, easy 100 yards and under woods gun.
GLWS!

I believe the Marauders were just produced in 1963-64. They also have a 16” barrel if I remember correctly.

A very nice rifle Earl. Also very close to Guyton, hmmm
