Item Description: This is a Remington 742 in 30-06 that I got in a trade a couple of months ago and have restored. It has a new Boyd's laminated thumb-hole stock, I Duracoated the Barrel and receiver in OD Green and deep cleaned it. It runs reliably and is more than accurate enough for a typical deer rifle. It has a 2.8 x 10 x 44 Simmons Aetec scope on it. It's a good rifle that will serve you well. I'll sell the whole package for $450.00 and throw in some good hunting ammo on top of it. 150 Grain Nosler Accubond in Nosler brass. 25 live rounds and 24 once fired cases from the same lot.

I just don't have any real use for it and don't keep safe queens. LOL!

I like that stock. I didn't know thumbhole stocks were available for the 740 / 7400 series (and I assume the pump-action 760s and 7600's too?)
I don't know about a stock for the pump actions, but this one is very nice. Just the right height for the scope and looks great.

It had it when I got it on trade, but had not been installed correctly and ended up destroying the for-end with just a few shots. Fortunately I was able to get a perfect match from Boyd's and was able to get the steel reinforcement sleeve (which the original did not have) by salvaging one from a old for-end I bought on ebay. I bedded and installed the new for-end right and there have been no further problems.
