My understanding is that putting a pistol grip on a Shockwave makes it an AOW, which then makes it a Class II NFA. If my above hypothesis is true, then I would recommend doing the correct paperwork. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Cool, didn't realize they had this system as a brace. I am guessing that is the loophole.

I had a gunsmith install it. I dont have a castle nut wrench. So it was easier to have them install it.

Its completely legal. The shockwave is considered a fire arm, not a shotgun. So the brace is allowed without paperwork because it doesnt collapse. If it did I would've needed paperwork. Remington sells a tac14 version from the factory with an SB tactical brace like the one I have listed.
