I did not. I’m not too sure what that is, I just figured it’s the serial number. I can’t find one anywhere else on the gun. I bought it from my friend who got it from his dad.

That looks like a case, or evidence control number etched in the gun.
Very common.

Serial number is under the grips...on the butt end of the frame

Looks like it’s the case number, division and the case officer’s initials. As previously stated serial number is on the frame at the bottom of the grip. May be a department weapon that became evidence in a case.
