Item Description: Smith and Wesson Highway Patrolman. Model 28-2 4” barrel. Has been nickel plated somewhat freckled now. The grips have been sanded down too. Good shooter or project to refinish.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a factory Nickle Model 28 a very rare varient? Is this a Factory nickle gun? I guess that is the question. So rare in fact I read warnings to watch for fakes. So, you may have a fake, or a rare sought after model 28. Either way, Good luck with the sale.

I don’t believe it’s a factory nickel gun I’m pretty confident that it was done later on. I don’t think it’s a “fake” or anything. Someone simply wanted the corrosion resistance.
