Item Description: Underwood M1 Carbine late '43- early '44. It is marked Underwood with a W indicating the receiver was made for Underwood by Universal Wingdings. Some of these were sold to Winchester later that year. Unknown if this was among them.

Barrel marked PW (Winchester) and has later SA rear sight, bayo lug, mag release button, and flip lever safety. Beautifully aged walnut M2 stock in fantastic shape. Rifle as a whole is in very good condition.

I have not fired this weapon. The action seems light to me (small round so IDK if it is as is should be or not), but it may need a new recoil spring ($8 original military new part Amazon.com).

Comes with 4- 20 round mags and 3-30 round mags.

USGI carbines don`t require a lot of effort to retract the slide, their recoil spring is fairly light weight as compared to the recoil springs found on other semi auto rifles firing full power rifle cartridges.

thank you sir.

Thought that might be the case because of the smaller round but wanted to note my observAtion since I know nothing about them.
