Item Description: Marlin 1894 .44 mag that I have owned since new. Made in 1977 (serial# 23******) , pre-safety, gold trigger and "JM" stamp.
Rifle is in good shape with regular handling marks for it's age. It has been a "working gun" for me and put plenty of meat on the table. There are some light field scratches on the forearm and stock along with some very, very mild pitting on the receiver and mag tube. Clean and accurate Micro-groove barrel with front sight hood still intact. Low round count, 20-25 per year to sight in and take game...not a "plinker". My gunsmith recently installed a new Marlin "improved design" carrier ($50 part) and polished the carrier bolt, so it cycles very smoothly. Original carrier included with sale.
Also included is 135 rounds of mostly new and old stock ammo ($100+):
100 rds. Hornady 240gr. XTP HP (new)
20 rds. Winchester 240gr. Hollow SP (3 yrs)
15 rds. Hornady 300gr XTP HP (5 yrs) - shot 5 of them last week to zero
This is not a safe queen, but it is a solid, clean rifle...you won't be disappointed. I just don't use it anymore. Feel free to PM for more pics.
The only trades I would be interested in are handguns in 9mm or .357mag and rifles in .357mag or 7.62x39. Cash either way to make up difference is ok with me.
