Item Name: Item Gone: Question for the Glock professionals

Location:

Item is for: Sale/Trade NOT SPECIFIED

Willing to Ship: No

Bill of Sale Required?: No

Item Description: OK, so I did a trade and I got A first generation Glock 17 obviously I want to modify it but it’s hard to modify a first generation. I’m going to keep the original slide, but I want to put a threaded barrel on it but the three barrel I have is gonna be gold so I like to have a custom slide, but you can’t really buy a custom slide for a Glock 17 GEN one. But I have heard that a GEN three might fit does anyone know if a Glock 17 GEN three slide will fit a Glock 17 GEN one before I go out and spend $300 on a slide???

Definitely keep it stock . Especially if it has the orginal internals . Just trade it for a newer one plus cash. But you should be able to use a gen 1 2 or 3 slide. The issue is sometimes the older glock frames get "soft" and glock would just swap it for a newer frame (gen3) but it would kill the value . I have seen several gen 1 and 2 glock slides on gen 3 frames done this way by glock and it will take the value from a 800 or more to a 300 to 400 .
"This is not advice its my opinion consult your local glock armory before making any modifications." So they can destroy all collectors value .

If it's a real Gen 1, you would be better off selling it and finding a newer one. The Gen 1 can bring $$.

But, parts are made interchangeable between the first 3 Gen's of Glocks. So, if it works for a Gen 3, it will work for you!

Picture please!
True

If it;s In very good condition , I would go on the Glock Talk website & check the S # forum to find out when it was made or just call Glock HQ .

To each his own but I would leave it as is .

GL no matter what .
