Item Name: Item Gone: Question for the Glock professionals

Location:

Item is for: Sale/Trade NOT SPECIFIED

Willing to Ship: No

Bill of Sale Required?: No

Item Description: OK, so I did a trade and I got A first generation Glock 17 obviously I want to modify it but it’s hard to modify a first generation. I’m going to keep the original slide, but I want to put a threaded barrel on it but the three barrel I have is gonna be gold so I like to have a custom slide, but you can’t really buy a custom slide for a Glock 17 GEN one. But I have heard that a GEN three might fit does anyone know if a Glock 17 GEN three slide will fit a Glock 17 GEN one before I go out and spend $300 on a slide???

Sct is a maker of Glock frames. They make a 17,19 and 43x sized frame. Complete with snap parts they are like 100. A stripped frame is like 50 or less. And that feel much better than a Glock to me. It's actually really really cheap to build a Glock. If you use cheap small parts you could build an entire gun for around 300. If you use OEM small parts it's going to cost more but be a lot more realible. This is my sct frame build.

I have gen. 1 (11/87) and gen. 2 Glock 17’s. There are several differences between the two guns. I can’t swap slides. The gen. 1 has a pinned front sight and the OD of the barrel is smaller than the gen. 2.

That's interesting you have a pinned front sight. Got some pictures? Cause my Gen 1 don't have that and they all have the OG internals.

Also, with a older Gen 1, I'm surprised you have a pencil barrel. All my 87 and 88 year Glocks didn't have that.

April 1987 Glock Gen 1 for reference.

Just swapped a Gen 1 1987 upper with a Gen 2 1990 and had zero issue. Tried it on 4 different Glocks, from 1987 to 1996. No issues on my end.

Love the…cerakote or whatever the design is? Looks awesome.

Arm or ally used to have several patterns of slides and frames. But they have stopped doing them. It's unfortunate cause I can't find any frames creokoted. And you kind of lose the economy of the build if you pay someone to have it coated. I'm pretty sure arm or ally still have some slides coated.
