Item Description: i got this gun from a great ODT member, and like it a lot. But, I just bought a couple of guns from another great member, and need to make room. (Need a bigger safe).
Up for sale is a nice 1942 Husqvarna Model 46A commercial hunting rifle, 9.3x57 caliber. The Husqvarna Model 46A was made from 1942 to 1945, making it one of the few commercial rifles made during WWII. Not a lot of them were made. These are not sporterized military rifles, but were made from new 1894 actions taken off of the Husqvarna factory assembly line. The barrel is 24 inches long. The 9.3x57 bore is in excellent-mint condition. The front sling swivel is mounted on the underside of the barrel. The metal, except for the triggerguard and mag plate, is 90%+. The triggerguard and mag plate show blue wear from carrying. The receiver has been drilled and tapped for Weaver bases.
It is currently set up with a scout mount setup that anchors into the rear sight base. It was in the the back of my safe, with the plan to put it back to a normal receiver base set up. Just never got around to it. So, it's for sale.
The walnut stock is in excellent condition, just showing normal hunting wear. No cracks or damage. The wrist hand-cut checkering is in excellent condition. It has a neat Schnabel forend tip. The original buttplate has been replaced with a modern European recoil pad. (Which comes in handy when shooting it!). The recoil is not bad at all, just healthy. It's just a nice vintage rifle.
The ammo is some that Graf & Sons manufactured from new Norma brass with 286 grain bullets. The original cost of the ammo was about $60.
The asking price for the rifle and ammo is NOW ONLY $325, and I'll meet you half-way, up to 20 miles from Lawrenceville. If you meet me at Bass Pro Shop in Lawrenceville, the price is only $315!
